Q: Where does the name Mercilless comes from?

The name came from a long thin sword that was in the game Devil May Cry 2. By mistake I added an extra “L”. I hadn’t realized it until almost a few years later when someone brought it up. By then I had a screen name, Xbox Live, Email, YouTube, and everything else under that name. My long hair, black clothing, long nails, I became the name.

Q: Why didn’t you eventually remove the extra “L”?

I felt, it was what made it my own. It became unique even after it was identified as a spelling error.

Q: Why filming and gaming, why not one or the other?

I find that they are both very similar to each other and I care for both forms of media very much. I’ve come to learn both fields extremely well.

Q: What Movies and Directors inspire you the most?

The Matrix (Reloaded), Transformers, Star Wars, and Lords of The Ring are some of the films with director such as Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay, and J.J. Abrams being that I am inspired by.

Q: When did you become interested in graphic and design?

I was always interested in Art and as games, computers, and technology became popular and grew, eventually the transition from paper to screen was simple and fluid.

Q: Since majority of your work is Visual art, when it comes to Audio who do you go to?

I go to a small up and coming audio studio located in Long Island, called Sharp Notes. The lead audio engineer I go to is Alex Seant.

Q. What motivates you to do all of this?

I actually have no idea what motivates me; just want people to see my visions, my stories. When I go to the movie, I like to go when it’s packed because I like to hear the audience reaction during the movie, I guess that’s what I’m looking forward to most when I get something on the silver screen.

Q: As a game critic, what is your idea of a great video game?

A great game is a balance game. Story, presentation, and of course game play. Game play has to be well designed, simple, and must feel fluid and responsive. Presentation isn’t all about looking the most realistic, it’s all about the artistic style, and of course story. Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, and The Darkness are excellent examples of what I look for in a game.

Q: What are your favorite video game and your favorite software company/developer?

Metal Gear Solid (PSX) and I don’t have a personal preference for developers.

Q:  Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Bronx, New York, but I reside in Hollywood Florida.
