James Cameron’s Avatar: Review

AVATAR is James Cameron epic return to the science fiction genre; it focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus, one of three fictional gas giants. On Pandora, human colonists and the indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the Na’vi, engage in a war over the planet’s resources. James Cameron promoted this film by saying it would change the way we see films, I can’t say it will change the way we see films on the scope he was thinking but I do see it revolutionize computer generated imagery in films forever. It has set a bench mark like no other film before.

Blindness is a 2008 film I saw at release, I had written a review for it but never got around finishing it. The movie has a lot of unbelievable and disturbing moments that I never personally believe would happen in such situation. As you finished the review that I have finally completed, you be asked a questioned based on the movie to see what you would do. The story is of an unexplained mass epidemic of Blindness known only as the “White Sickness” – affecting nearly everyone in an unnamed city, and the social breakdown that comes along. The film follows a handful of characters that are among the first to be stricken. With several characters, and assorted others, thrown together by chance. This group bands together to survive by the unexplained good fortune that the doctor’s wife has escaped the blindness.

By the title alone you’re probably saying to yourself, hey I know that movie or book. Well yes you’re right; it’s a movie and a book written by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. One important lady in my life brought this movie to my attention while we were texting each other. She had advice me not to check the film out because it’s a chick flick. Not only is this movie a chick flick but possibly enlightenment for both women and men.
